Ritual Tribute and Choosing Rewards — Defer, Reroll, Offer to the King
In 0.5, Ritual is the shop you buy Omens from. The reward window contains nothing but unique items and Omens, which shifts the question from “what will drop” to “what do I spend this Tribute on”.

Earning Tribute
Most Omens come from Ritual rewards. As of 0.5 every item in the Ritual reward screen is either a Unique or an Omen, which effectively makes Ritual the shop where you buy Omens.
The mechanic itself (altar interaction, the seal, the waves) is covered in Six Map Mechanics; here we cover the Omen-farming angle only.
You buy with Tribute. Killing monsters inside a Ritual accumulates Tribute, which you spend on the altar’s rewards. But each time a monster is revived, the Tribute it grants drops by 25%, so it pays to kill things before they resurrect (an Atlas notable can cancel this loss).
- Can’t afford it? Defer it. If the Omen you want appears but you’re short on Tribute, pay 10% of its cost plus a fee to defer — it reappears in later Rituals with part of its cost already paid. If you don’t defer it again next time its price can rise, and leaving it too long warns you it’ll drop out of the pool.
- Don’t like the offer? Reroll. Pay 1000 Tribute to reroll the offered rewards. Once by default; Atlas passives add more. The button pulses when a free reroll is available.
- Don’t waste leftover Tribute. Unspent Tribute can be offered to the King (“Offer Tribute to the King”) toward An Audience with the King — a separate path that leads to the Ritual pinnacle boss. See The Bodach for that.
Ritual maps cluster around the new hub Caer Tarth west of the Atlas start, and running them also builds Ritual Atlas tree points. If you’re chasing a specific Omen, spec into the reward-related Ritual Atlas nodes and lean on defer and reroll until the one you want shows up.
Defer or reroll?
Both spend Tribute, so it’s a judgement call. The rule is simple.

Rerolling is a flat 1000, so when the thing you’d buy costs less than that, rerolling loses money. Chasing an expensive Omen is the case where wiping the board is worth it.
Leftover Tribute vanishes when the Ritual ends, so if there’s nothing to buy, offering is always correct.
